Introduction and the purpose of the competition
The aim of the competition is to design a luminaire or luminaire system for general lighting in commercial spaces. The main purpose of the luminaire is to illuminate rooms in various types of buildings and spaces (restaurants, hotels, lobbies, reception desks, conference rooms, public buildings, showrooms, galleries, etc.)
The designer should take into account not only the visual effect, impression and lighting function, but also the safety of use related to the distribution of the luminous flux as well as resulting from the electric power supply. The project requires a general explanation of the principle of construction and operation.
Organizer
The competition is organized by the Polish Association of Lighting Industry in cooperation with the Agencja SOMA – the organizer of the International Trade Show Light, and the Silesian studios: Goczołowie Architekci Studio Autorskie and OVO Grąbczewscy Architekci.

Patronage
The industry patronage over the competition is held by the Faculty of Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the Faculty of Architecture of the Gdańsk University of Technology.

The selection of the winners is in the hands of the Competition Jury. It was composed for years of well-known and respected architects and designers as well as lighting specialists.
